Fiido e-Bikes: StVZO Compliance & Road Legality in Germany
Fiido is committed to the safety and legal integration of micromobility within the German market. Our e-bike lineup is engineered around a 'Modular Compliance Framework.' This innovative approach enables riders to achieve full StVZO (§ 67) compliance by harmonizing our factory-preset configurations with seamless App-based adjustments and the integration of certified accessories.
The German StVZO Certification
All Fiido e-Bikes available on the German market are engineered to align with the StVZO (Straßenverkehrs-Zulassungs-Ordnung) - the national safety standard governing all electric bicycles on German roads.
To ensure full compliance as a Pedelec (EPAC), our models are built or configurable to meet the following core requirements:
- Maximum continuous motor power ≤ 250 W
- Pedal-assist speed limited to 25 km/h
- Throttle None or 6 km/h (Walk Assist)
- Automatic motor cut-off when the rider stops pedaling
- Required lights, reflectors, and other safety equipment
- Mechanical clear-sounding bell
Current Status: Most Fiido models in our German lineup already meet these technical specifications through factory-preset configurations or via our App-Integrated Compliance Mode. While official third-party certification is actively in progress, our hardware and software are designed to be "StVZO-Ready" today.

Fiido’s Three Pillars of Compliance
Official Certification
Fiido is currently in the final stages of official StVZO testing, this involves laboratory verifications, parts upgrade to make sure the e-bikes are factory-preset ready (compare to current “technical ready & in-APP define). See Active Certification Process.
Technical Compliance (Pedelec Status)
As listed in the table, Fiido e-bikes are factory pre-set to StVZO standard for all e-bikes on:
- Motor Output: Permanent rated power is capped at 250W (Continuous)
- Speed Regulation: Power assistance is hardware-limited to a maximum of 25 km/h
- Throttle Restriction: For the German market, the throttle is limited to a 6 km/h "Starting Aid" (Anfahrhilfe) in accordance with § 63a StVZO
- Mechanical clear-sounding bell
Adjustable Smart Compliance via Fiido App
Users can easily toggle a StVZO compliance mode by:
- Disable “Electronic Horn” in APP;
- Adjust beam angle: Fiido e-bikes are technically ready to adjust beam angle to meet StVZO regulation;

Active Certification Process
Fiido is currently in the active stage of official Straßenverkehrs-Zulassungs-Ordnung (StVZO) certification for our core e-bike models (including the C11 PRO, C11, C21, D3 PRO, T2, M1 PRO, C700, NOMADS, and all the new model launch in 2026) in compliance with StVZO standards.
We are working closely with German technical inspection authorities to ensure our hardware meets the most rigorous local standards. While official "K-Mark" labels are being finalized for specific production batches, the structural integrity and safety of these bikes already align with EU EN15194 standards.
The Fact: Fiido e-bikes are designed as versatile global platforms. For the German market, we have developed a dual-pathway - combining intelligent software limits and certified hardware kits (in process) - to ensure our riders enjoy full road legality as "Pedelecs."
